Since the ordination of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II in November 2012 the Coptic Orthodox Church has increased its focus on the vision and mission for the fast-growing Coptic Orthodox community outside of Egypt. His Holiness, along with bishops and delegates from the United States, Canada, South America, and Australia, hosts a seminar every three years to discuss the needs of our congregation across the diaspora.
The first seminar was held in May 2015 at the St. Paul Monastery near the Red Sea. It was comprised of ten sessions addressing topics related to the range of services in our congregations and establishing strategies and policies needed to achieve the defined vision and mission for our communities. The seminar was very fruitful and successful in bringing both clergy and lay leaders including young adult representation together to discuss how to continue nurturing our congregations.
The second seminar will be held on October 3 – October 5, 2018 at the diocese of New York & New England.
